29th Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival

This year's festival is held from September 10th till September 25th in the two-thousand-year-old Roman theater. This theater is noted as one of the best preserved antique theaters in the World!

The first Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival has been organized in Aspendos in 1994. It's run by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with international participation by opera and ballet companies from several countries. It host many local and foreign artists and bands and bring together art lovers of Turkish and World art .

Hosted in a spectacular atmosphere of the 2000-year-old Aspendos theater, the opera and ballet festivals are watched annually by approximately 100 thousand art lovers. Many foreign tourists are coming to Antalya to watch those magnificent performances.

This peaceful festival aims to eliminate religion, language, and race differences in the world with art and to bring all people together. The ancient walls of the amphitheater hosted audiences from all over the world and brought together many Far-East and European Union communities.

This festival is ranked by the European Festivals Association in top five of the "Best Opera Festivals List" in the World ranking. And it is the first and only festival awarded the "Best Quality Management Certificate". That all makes it a one of the most prestigious opera and ballet events in the world.

The outstanding acoustic quality of the ancient Aspendos theater makes classical music sounds heard at the same level and quality from all seats and corners of the performance hall.
